Scarcity Effect

In the Chinese Spring Festival, everyone will eat delicious food, such as Beijing Roast Duck, pot, fire noodle and so on. But now, i just in the Montana, there is not many chinese food, it limits the consumption for food market.

When i want to eat some chinese food, i only have to shopping online, so online shopping is becoming my favorite consumer platform. I can find lots of chinese food, but i saw the price is higher than in China. I guess that two reasons: one is tariff, and another one is scarcity. When the product is scarcity, customers always want to buy it, so the price of cause will be increasing.

Some businessmen use this consumption concept to attract more customers. For example, i find a new about selling crabs, which is not ate for this season; however, it still has lots of people want to buy it; it also appeals the phenomenon of a shortage.

It is amazing.

  1. Yes! It is amazing how shortages can increase the price dramatically. I find this when buying fish, which I love so much! To address the Chinese food shortage in Bozeman, although it is not Chinese food, I-Ho's South Korean food is the best authentic Asian food in town.
